Introduction to Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine Laboratory(TCVM)

Currently, there are 3 in-service staff in TCVM laboratory, including one professor, one associate professor and one lecturer. Furthermore, there are 22 postgraduate students and 4 doctoral students. Undergraduate courses: TCVM, veterinary acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine preparation, veterinary Chinese herbal medicine, etc. Postgraduate courses: advanced TCVM, advanced Chinese herbal medicine, veterinary acupuncture, etc.

The laboratory platform mainly includes: South China Agricultural University International Institute of TCVM, Guangdong engineering and technology research center of veterinary Chinese herbal medicine and natural medicine. TCVM Laboratory has SYSTEM GelDoc XR + gel imaging SYSTEM, Antaris ™ II FT-NIR near-infrared analyzer, Waters 1525 HPLC high performance liquid mass spectrometer and other instruments.

At present, the research work in TCVM laboratory mainly includes prevention and treatment of food animals diseases and pet diseases. The laboratory now hosts more than 10 projects of national natural fund and Guangdong science program, with more than 3 million yuan of scientific research funds. In recent years, more than 60 scientific papers have been published, including 15 SCI papers, over 10 national authorized patents, 2 new veterinary drug certificates and 4 provincial awards. International symposium on veterinary acupuncture was held five times, three times national conference on TCVM, and many times regional conference on TCVM.
